Mama Bear Bowls Partners with SK to Open Summer 2019 on Downer
Stephanie Larson discussing her vision in the space Mama Bear Bowls will inhabit this Summer on Downer Avenue across from the Downer Theater.
Stephanie Larson, a working mom of one, had a dream. A dream to build something and leave a legacy of 'strong female restaurant ownership' to her young daughter. Inspired by the growing trend of "healthy bowls and smoothie" franchises, she first looked at investing in an already existing concept. But the more research she did, the more she felt she could do it better herself. That's when Mama Bear Bowls was born.
"It will be a fast casual restaurant, serving fresh, unprocessed foods. Instagram-worthy Smoothie bowls with AçaÃ, Dragon Fruit / Pitaya, Avocado, Kale, and Oatmeal based blends topped with fresh fruit and toppings. Additionally we’ll offer Anodyne coffee and healthy on-the-go options." said Larson.
To aid in the operational development and menu R&D, Larson enlisted the help of Sustainable Kitchens, which will only serve to boon her drive to serve fresh, scratch food.
Looking to address the dearth of health-focused restaurants in Milwaukee, Mama Bear Bowls will be strictly vegetarian and gluten free in addition to being full-scratch. Mama Bear is slated to start making bowls by the summer of 2019.
